Early this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the Indian Air Force’s Adampur air base in Punjab, one of the four strategic bases impacted during recent Pakistan-triggered tensions. The Prime Minister was briefed on the current security status by Air Force officials and spent time interacting with fighter pilots and soldiers stationed at the base.
In a heartfelt post on X, PM Modi shared glimpses of his meeting and praised the jawans, calling the experience “very special.” He lauded their “courage, determination, and fearlessness,” adding that “India is eternally grateful to our armed forces.”
PM Modi arrived from Delhi’s Palam Air Base at 7 am, accompanied by Air Chief Marshal A P Singh. He spent about an hour at Adampur, which houses MiG-29 fighter jets and plays a vital role in northern air defense.
His visit is seen as a strong show of solidarity with the armed forces amid heightened geopolitical tensions, especially following reported damages at IAF bases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj.
